Wine Review: This wine was my favorite New Zealand Pinot from a release tasting that I recently attended. It is ruby colored and it opens with a spicy raspberry like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is light bodied and has nicely integrated acidity. The flavor profile is a delicious spicy raspberry flavor. The finish is dry and its well managed tannins linger for a bit. The flavors alone make this wine a gem worth seeking out. Pair it with pork tenderloin. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The wine has a deep ruby colour. Initial aromas of sweet vanilla initially are followed by ripe cherry and dark plums with savoury undertones. The palate has the sweetness of ripe fruit enhanced by soft floral notes. The ripe fruit and firm but supple tannins give good length on a layered palate. Great now but will improve over the next 6-8 years.
