Wine Review: If you like solid and well structured Merlot, I have one for you. This very dark crimson option from Charles Creek opens with an attractive cherry like bouquet with hints of menthol and spice. On the palate, this medium bodied wine is balanced, silky, and smooth with spicy cherry flavors. The finish is dry and its sizable tannins linger for quite some time. This big boy Merlot has plenty of punch. Pair it with venison or bison. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Deep ruby color and aromas of dark fruit, spice and pencil lead serve as a prelude to flavors of dark cherry, cola spice, and a hint of herb. Overlaying the delicious Merlot fruit component is the Medium + toast (think roasted espresso bean), caramel, vanilla and spice contribution of quality Radoux barrels.
