Wine Review: This ruby colored wine opens with a raspberry and old oak barrel like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is light to medium bodied, balanced, silky, and soft with light raspberry like flavors and a touch of spice integrated in. The finish is dry and its well managed tannins linger quite nicely. This is a perfect wine for salmon! Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The Santa Lucia Highlands Appellation blend Pinot Noir has been one of our most popular wines ever since the 1999 vintage received a 91-point rating from Wine Spectator. The 2006 may be the fullest-bodied SLH blend since that 1999 offering. This is due, in part, to the super 2006 vintage and also because of the prominence of Pisoni Vineyard fruit in the blend. The 2006 wine is 47% Pisoni Vineyard, 38% Rosella’s Vineyard and 15% Garys’ Vineyard Pinot Noir.
