Wine Review: This wine is a steal and one of the better US Grenache’s that I have tried recently. This ruby red colored wine opens with an inviting cherry vanilla bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, well balanced, smooth, and elegant with a dry mouthfeel. It displays tasty cherry flavors with a touch of spice and black pepper. The finish is quite dry and its tannins are nicely prolonged. This wine would pair very nicely with a NY strip steak. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2006 Novy Judge Family Vineyard Grenache shows a distinct spicy character, with hints of black pepper and herbs. Wild berry flavors contrast against a slight earthiness. The finish is tannic (but not harshly so). This wine drinks very well now after being open a couple of hours so either decant it or let it rest in your cellar for a year or two.
