Wine Review: Both Talley Chards finished in the Top 4 wines of our second blind Chardonnay tasting. This offering from Arroyo Grande finished in 4th place with a score of 88.17. We found this yellow wine opens with an attractive light citrus and pineapple bouquet. On the palate, this medium bodied wine is balanced, crisp, and bright with tangy lemon and pear like flavors. The finish is quite dry and refreshing. The panel would pair this wine with Dover sole or ham. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Hints of mineral, grilled nuts, toast and anise along with more dominant notes of orange blossom are present in the aroma of the 2006 Estate Chardonnay. On the palate, the flavors are consistent with past vintages: lemon, hints of pineapple, and subtle mineral tones. The texture is a bit softer and richer and the flavors more concentrated than the 2005 vintage. This versatile wine pairs well with filet of sole, halibut or grilled chicken breast.
