Wine Review: This Chard from Oregon is quite impressive. It finished in second place in our recent blind tasting. This bright yellow wine opens with a very inviting fruit salad like bouquet. On the palate, this full bodied wine is smooth, well balanced, and displays more a traditional California style. That is a creamy butter and oaky flavor profile. The finish is dry and lingers a while. The panel felt this wine would be a wonderful choice for chicken cordon bleu. It also passed the “I’ll have a second taste of that one” test at the end of the tasting. You will need to go to the winery to get this one. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Rich and sweet toasty aromas of cream, vanilla, barrel toast and spices. Sweet, ripe impression with well-integrated barrel flavors of nutmeg and clove with yeast lees and mineral. The mouth is medium bodied with good flinty acidity for balance and aging potential. The finish is long, fresh, vibrant and clean, with lingering mineral, and toast flavors reminiscent of a French Burgundy. Peak drinkability should be around 2009-2011.
