Wine Review: This Merlot from South Africa will appeal to Chianti fans as it has a lot of Sangiovese characteristics. This garnet wine opens with a cherry and vanilla oak like bouquet and a touch of heat. On the palate, this medium bodied wine is balanced, slightly tangy, and displays appealing dusty black cherry and oak flavors. The finish is dry and subtle. The panel thought this good value wine would pair nicely with chicken parmigianna or a veal chop. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: This full-bodied wine is ruby red in colour with ripe berries, subtle cherries and oak spices. On the palate this well-balanced Merlot is an easy drinking yet mouth filling wine with ample clean soft fruit flavours and an oaky backup with gentle tannins. - Winemaker: Justin Corrans
