Wine Review: Excellent wines in my mind are those wines that you serve to impress someone and provide lasting memories. This wine did that for me and our guests at a recent dinner at Eastern Standard in Kenmore Square. As a matter of fact, we were still talking about it several days later. This opaque Indigo colored wine opens with a very inviting blueberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is smooth and silky. It is displays very rich and juicy blackberry and blueberry flavors. This wine is just delicious. The finish is dry, elegant, and soft. This wine is a perfect wine for filet mignon. If you try this wine, I promise you it will provide a lasting impression. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2006 vintage has an opaque red colour with a purple hue. This blockbuster wine shows an amazingly concentrated and intense nose with blueberry and blood plum filling the headspace. These fruit notes are joined with dark chocolate, vanilla bean and golden syrup nuances. The opulent palate has a magnitude of sweet creamy layers, soft and supple tannins and a seamless length full of liquorice, toasted coconut and cracked black pepper. The wine is drinking well now and will cellar for many years.
