Wine Review: Joseph Carr likes to make affordable food friendly varietal wine. He accomplishes that again with this Merlot. This ruby red wine opens with a black cherry bouquet with a touch of pipe tobacco. On the palate, this light bodied wine is balanced and tasty with black cherry flavors and notes of blueberry and dark chocolate as well. The finish is quite dry, with friendly soft tannins, and brief finish. The panel felt this wine would be a good match for venison or a gourmet burger with sautéed mushrooms and onion and Swiss. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Deep crimson in color, aromas of black cherry and sage set the state for a complex ripe plum palate with hints of cocoa and spice flavors from the one hundred percent French oak. A lush, smooth mouthful of Merlot.
