Wine Review: This pale yellow wine from Childress Vineyards came roaring across the finish line in 2nd place in our most recent blind tasting of Sauvignon Blancs. The most interesting remark from most of the panel members is that they felt the wine was Very Good and tasty but they didn’t necessarily fell it tasted like traditional Sauvignon Blanc. This wine opened with a very pleasant honeydew melon like bouquet with hints of honey. On the palate, this medium bodied wine is smooth, balanced, creamy, and elegant. The flavor profile is mild green apple with hints of lime and vanilla. The finish is dry and brief. The panel felt this wine would pair nicely with halibut with crab stuffing or braised pork with spinach and apples. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Our varietal Sauvignon Blanc offers a nose of citrus, figs, and honeydew melon combined with a bright, crisp, freshness and a clean mineral ending with hints of butterscotch and sweet grass.
