Wine Review: This winery was a new discovery for us at the Golden Nose Awards. We liked both of their Rieslings and plan to keep an eye on them. This pale yellow Riesling opens with a faint lemon like bouquet. On the palate, this light bodied wine is very nicely balanced, lively, with slightly sweet lemon-lime flavors with a touch of mineral notes. The finish is alive and refreshing. This wine would pair well with bacon wrapped shrimp or ham. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Riesling produces aromatic light to medium-bodied wines. They can have exceedingly complex aromas with floral, herbal and spicy aromas combined with honey and fruit. Our vineyards reap the benefits of lake effect temperature control from Seneca Lake that creates less severe extremes in winter and summer, and buffers against spring and fall frosts. The vines are planted in a shallow layer of topsoil on sloping shale beds. If we had our way with Mother Nature every year, we would ask her to give us the right amount of sun and rain so that we may receive a plethora of Riesling grapes from the vineyards.
