Wine Review: As many of my readers know, I am a big fan of Gewürztraminer. I am also very picky about how it is made. I recently came across a charming one from Alsace that I could not stop enjoying and asking for more. That wine was the 2006 Les Charmes from Marc Kreydenweiss. This light yellow wine opens with a classic lychee like bouquet that invites you to try it. On the palate, this wine does not disappoint. It is medium bodied, well balanced, slightly viscous and creamy. It displays a nice light lime flavor profile with notes of green apple as well. It had impeccably good balance between its fruit, sugar, and acidity. As mentioned earlier, you couldn’t resist not asking for more. Te finish is dry and fades away nicely. This wine would pair well with many foods. I would enjoy it with halibut with crab stuffing if I had a choice. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2006 Kritt Gewürztraminer displays ripe fruit and floral flavors. This is a delicate wine that is perfect as an aperitif.
