Wine Review: New Zealand is starting to get noticed in the world of Pinot Noir and this offering from Blind Trail made our recommended list after our blind tasting in early April. This ruby colored wine opens with a slightly musty raspberry bouquet with hints of vanilla and spice. On the palate, this medium bodied wine is round, has a dry mouthfeel, is straight forward, and displays dusty black cherry flavors with some spicy notes. The finish is dry and slightly tannic. The panel felt this wine would pair nicely with veal marsala or a grilled Angus burger. Enjoy - KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: Showing bright fruit on the nose, uplifted red and black cherry notes and elegant tannins, this wine has an inviting bouquet that leads you in to a supple well rounded palate. The wine and oak tannins are well integrated, forming a platform to display the wonderful cherry fruit notes with hints of liquorice and allspice.
