Wine Review: This wine is showing quite well right now. It has opened up from our first try of it in April. This time around it finished in 2nd place in our recent mini tasting of high end Pinot Noirs. It is very dark garnet in color and opens with a terrific black cherry like bouquet with a dash of pepper & hint of truffle. On the palate, this medium bodied wine is really well balanced, and satiny with very tasty black cherry flavors with notes of dark chocolate & pepper. The finish is dry & slightly prolonged. The panel thought this wine would be a wonderful complement to pork tenderloin dished. Enjoy – KWGTP
4/08: This wine finished is 2nd place in our blind tasting of Pinot Noir. This very dark scarlet wine opens with bouquet reflecting intense spicy black current scents along with a noticeable musty & earthy aroma mellowed with some air. On the palate, this medium bodied wine is smooth, has good balance, and shows spicy plum like flavors with hints of berry. The finish is dry, pleasant, and brief. The panel felt this wine would pair nicely with steak au poivre? or barbecue ribs. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Complex nose of ripe strawberries, leather, cherry liqueur, fresh split cedar, smoke, blackberries, sea salt and carbon. Rounded and broad mouth feel of seamless sweet black fruit, red currant and earth. This is a big pinot noir without being over the top.
