Wine Review: This opaque deep purple wine won the recommendation from our tasting panel as a good value wine. This opaque deep purple wine that is almost black opens with a blackberry like bouquet with hints of licorice, fig, and spice. On the palate, wine is round, juicy, has some good acidity, and displays concentrated and lush spicy cherry and fig like flavors with some hints of dark chocolate.. The finish is quite dry, a touch acidic, and has moderate tannins that linger for some time. This bargain wine could be enjoyed now but might even be better after a year in the cellar. (If you enjoy it now decant it for an hour + for the best results) The panel would match this wine red sauce based meals like chicken and veal parmigiana. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: This blend of Nero d'Avola and Syrah combines the best known Sicilian indigenous red with the refinement of an international varietal, and a judicious amount of oak. The end result is an unforgetable combination of: a floral perfume, thick red and black fruit, medium to full-bodied structure, and a well integrated oak finish. Benuara is the name of the local red wildflower pictured on the label.
