Wine Review: In a blind tasting, I think you could mistake this gem as a Sancerre. This light straw wine opens with a wet stone like bouquet. I kept thinking of the aromas you pick up when trout fishing in a brook in the spring. On the palate, this wine is nicely balanced, crisp, and displays slightly tart key lime pie flavors with lots of minerality. The finish is dry, very refreshing, and mouthwatering. This very food friendly wine paired perfectly with the homemade chicken noodle soup I was eating. It would also go nicely with the brook trout mentioned above. Cheers - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This racy bottling single handedly put South Africa on the map as a source of world class Sauvignon Blanc. One of the Cape's most heralded and sought after wines. Vivid tropical fruit aromas give way to succulent, mouth filling flavors of guava, lychee, gooseberry, lime, and fresh cut grass, supported by a jolt of acidity.
