Wine Review: In our recent blind reviews of Syrah and Shiraz, this wine finished in 2nd place. This wine opens with a jammy boysenberry bouquet with scents of pipe tobacco and smoked wood. On the palate, this medium to full bodied wine is well balanced, very fruit forward, with rich and juicy black cherry and blackberry flavors with hints of raisin. The finish is dry and shows fine tannins that stick with you. The panel felt this would pair wonderfully with a bacon wrapped filet, pot roast, or even with ratatouille. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: With warm, south-eastern facing slopes, this small five acre vineyard block of Syrah has once again captured the unique Spring Mountain terroir. Spices, black licorice and pepper are braided with floral overtones of white flowers and lush roses. The palate is complex with flavors of roasted meats, blackberry jam, layers of chocolate and toast. Its full-bodied structure is soft and supple, making this chewy Syrah a delight to drink now or to cellar for the next five to eight years.
