Wine Review: This very dark purple wine is the best wine we have tried from Stonehedge Winery’s "Terroir Select" portfolio. We decanted it for about an hour before digging in. The wine opens with a very inviting spicy plum like bouquet that entices you to explore further. On the palate, this medium to full bodied wine is rather smooth, not overly complex, but displays delicious juicy blueberry like flavors with slight hints of oak on the back palate. The finish is very very dry and has young manageable tannins that stay with you for a while. This very approachable Petite Sirah is really tasty. It will pair nicely with a juicy steak. For a Petite Sirah at this price point it is quite a steal. Enjoy – Ken

Winemaker Notes: The Stonehedge 2004 Terroir Select Petite Syrah is produced exclusively from grapes grown in the famed "Pallini Ranch" Vineyard in Mendocino county. The wine is dark, deep in color, nose of berries, it is full bodied, while it keeps it elegance. It has a strong concentrated flavor of blueberry that stays on your pallet for a long time. The balance between hard tannins and soft tannins are very healthy and help the age ability of the wine. This wine has the aging ability of 15 years.
