Wine Review: If you like classic old world Italian wine, here is a nice option that we recently had with dinner @ Vincenzo’s in Chelmsford, MA. This almost black wine opened with a mild bouquet of dark berries and a hint of forest floor and old wood. On the palate, this medium bodied wine is round, shows a touch of acidity, is a bit dry, and displays nice black cherry flavors with some oak influence. The finish is quite dry, has fine tannins, and lingers for a little while with that toasty oak still hanging on. This wine paired nicely with my pork tenderloin and may even go better with a more traditional Italian meal like veal parmigiana. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: An enticing, rather pronounced ruby red, edged with garnet. The suite of fragrances exhibits considerable complexity, opening to dark fruit such as plum and black currant, then enriched by a pungent spiciness that betrays cinnamon and clove. The attack offers dense, impressive pulp, and finegrained tannins that marry beautifully with its alcohol; the result is a solidly-built, but not heavy or extractive, wine with a seamless, long-lingering finish.
