Wine Review: This Shiraz from Water Wheel was consistently liked by all the members of the tasting panel. This very dark opaque purple wine is almost black. It opens with a pleasant blended plum and blackberry like bouquet hints of vanilla and oak. On the palate, this medium to full bodied wine is smooth, well balanced, and has juicy plum and blackberry flavors with bacon, molasses, and white pepper influences. The finish is dry, slightly acidic, a touch tart, and a little prolonged. The panel felt this wine would go well with food, particularly pork tenderloin with rosemary or mushrooms. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Deep violet in colour with a bright purple hue. There are plum and liquorice aromas on the nose along with hints of oak. The palate is full and rich with plum and aniseed flavours dominating. The wine has great length and is well balanced with a persistent dry finish and fine tannins. It is ready to drink now and will continue to improve in the medium term.
