Wine Review: This wine was our clear cut winner in our recent blind tasting of Italian Red varietals. This very dark purple wine opens with a very inviting blueberry like bouquet with hints of ginger. On the palate, this medium to full bodied wine is well balanced, has nice complexity, and delivers very concentrated and delicious blueberry flavors. The finish is quite dry, has noticeable moderate tannins that sail on for quite a long time. The panel felt this terrific wine would pair very well with châteaubriand or Steak Diane. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Ruby purple color with intense aromas of concentrated ripe red and black cherries with vanilla and hints of brown spice. With refreshing acidity, rich tannins, and on the fuller-bodied side for Barbera, the single vineyard La Scaronne has finesse, excellent balance, great complexity, integration and a long lingering finish.
