Wine Review: This wine finished 4th in our most recent blind tasting of Chardonnays. This light yellow wine opens with a lovely citrus and pear bouquet with hints of vanilla. On the palate, this medium bodied wine is smooth, creamy, well balanced, and has lime and melon like flavors with hints of ginger. The finish is dry and persists for a little while. The panel felt this wine would be a perfect match for pasta carbonara. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Due to reduced lees stirring in this vintage, the 2005 Estate Chardonnay is a bit more fruit focused and elegant than recent vintages. The wine starts with a pronounced nose of vanilla, light pear and green apple with a touch of macadamia nut. Initially shy in the mouth, the wine displays a well delineated, Chablis-like style. It finishes with zesty refreshing acidity and a distinct mineral note. This elegant chardonnay makes an excellent match with subtle seafood, like shellfish or sole, as well as chicken.
