Wine Review: Cabernet Franc from the 2005 vintage seemed to be the winning combination for many vintners in the Finger Lakes Region. The folks from Lakewood did a particularly good job with their offering. This dark red wine opens with a pleasant light licorice nose with a hint of oak. On the palate, this wine is smooth as silk and expresses some pepper and plum like flavors. The finish is quite dry, elegant, and nicely extended. This would pair well with grilled pork tenderloin with a brown butter and sage sauce. It is also a great deal at $16 per bottle. Hurry, there is not much of this gem. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: A brilliantly red, medium bodied wine with subtle aromas of blackberry, rich cocoa, and tea. Youthful tannins flesh out the mid-palate before finishing dry with a modicum of smoky oak. A real treat when served with red meats.
