Wine Review: This wine was the overall winner of our "value priced" blind Merlot tasting last week. This dark red wine opens with a spicy cherry and berry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is round, shows a touch of oak, and has some good acidity. Overall the wine was very pleasant, easy to drink, and had nice plum flavors. The panel thought this wine would be perfect with meatloaf. The finish is dry, subtle, and tasty. Enjoy really good value wine - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Ripe fruit flavors give the wine a delightful brightness and a distinct fruit forward orientation. The oak flavors provide a rich creamy texture that is free of astringent tannins. The finish is lengthy and full of toasted oak that lingers on the palate. Deep purple color, with youthful bright hues characterize this wines appearance. The aromas feature ripe dark red fruits; boysenberry, loganberry and blackberry. A bouquet of toasted oak with hints of milk chocolate compliments the aromas.
