Wine Review: This light straw-colored Riesling from Zilliken opens with a bee's wax and lime zest bouquet with hints of lemongrass and light petrol. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is pleasantly sweet, round, mouthwatering, and easy to drink. The flavor profile is ripe Bosc pear and lime blend with notes of pineapple. I also detected hints of white peach and light iced tea. The finish remains sweet and its flavors and acidity drift away nicely. I would pair this Riesling with drunken noodles. Enjoy – Ken

Winemaker Notes: A brilliantly juicy and vibrant Riesling in the delicate and low-alcohol Kabinett style that can only happen in cool climates. Produced with early harvested fruit from estate vines in the town of Saarburg, this village-level Riesling Kabinett evokes the feeling of wide-open windows, through which the fresh spring air is dancing in. The textbook definition of a classic, nimble Saar Kabinett. Juicy, grape-like nose with a creaminess comparable to a white risotto. In the mouth, an explosive, cool and animating flavors of ripe gooseberries and honeydew melon, framed by the intensely integrated acidity.
