Wine Review: This pale straw colored Kabinett level Riesling from Zilliken opens with a light lemon and Anjou pear bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is a medium sweet, round, and juicy. The flavor profile is tart fuji apple and pineapple blend with notes of saline and lime. I also detected hints of chalky minerality and lemon verbena. The finish is slightly sweet, and its acidity and flavors are very nicely prolonged. I would pair this Riesling with caramelized scallops. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: With equal parts fruit and flowers, this complex Kabinett opens with a captivating range of candied pineapple, lemon curd, ripe orange, and the tropical touch of ginger. A round acidity shapes and shepherds the wine across the supple palate, while juicy yellow fruit flavors bob along like sailboats on the surface. The cool conditions of the 2021 vintage suit the sometimes Rubenesque character of the Bockstein, revealing its inner refined core.
