Wine Review: This light strawberry colored Pinot Noir from ZD is very old world styled. It opens with a dried cherry and black raspberry bouquet with hints of forest floor teaberry, and violets. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, smooth, and savory. The flavor profile is red raspberry jam and earthy loam blend with notes of oak and strawberry. We also detected hints of cinnamon, clove, cola and craisin. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity are sustained for quite a while. The Tasting Panel suggests decanting this Pinot for a little while before pairing it with a grilled cedar plank salmon or with roast duck breast. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: This Pinot Noir has a beautiful garnet rose color to the rim of the glass. Aromas of ripe raspberries and fresh-picked strawberries blend with hints of baking spice and black tea notes. The palate is full and lush with mingling flavors of berry jam with just the right amount of toasted oak nuances. Balanced with a bright and lingering finish, this wine is drinking wonderfully now and will age nicely for years to come. - Chris Pisani, Senior Winemaker
