Wine Review: This opaque and very dark purple colored Malbec opens with fragrant blueberry bouquet with a hint of acai berry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and savory. The flavor profile is a tasty plum and blackberry jam blend with hints of mild minerality, dark chocolate and black pepper. The finish is dry and it's mild tannins are rather friendly. I would pair this very good organic wine with barbecue short ribs. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Our Malbec continues to be one of only a handful produced in California and we're very proud of it. Our 2009 vintage is our 16th consecutive vintage. It is 100% Malbec from our front, Rennie Vineyard. It has bright fruit aromas: boysenberry and pomegranate with a light floral note. Lovely fresh fruit flavors cover the mouth; raspberry, red cherry and a touch of cranberry with a hint of chocolate in the finish. Consider serving it with lamb, duck, or tenderloin of beef dishes. And, of course, we adore it when it is paired with virtually any receipe that features mushrooms.
