Wine Review: This midnight violet colored Grenache from the McLaren Vale opens with an attractive Maine blueberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium to full bodied, rich and fruity. The flavor profile is a tasty extracted blueberry with notes of gentle minerality and a hint of black cherry. The finish is dry and its fine tannins and fruit flavors sail away nicely. This rich fruit bomb is a nice fireplace wine to hang out with. I enjoy it with some Old Croc cheddar cheese with mini-stoned wheat thin crackers. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: One of the more perfumed vintages, the Old Vine Grenache has pretty floral aromas and briary bright red fruits. The palate shows lots of bright cherry fruit, and the vineyard’s typical fine line of sandy mineral tannins and acidity. - Peter Fraser, winemaker
