Wine Review: This bright white gold colored Viognier opens with a mild ripe Bartlett pear bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and easy going. The flavor profile is a blend of mild Anjou pear and gentle apricot with just a touch of oak. The finish is dry and its flavors linger nicely. This wine is food friendly and it would pair well with wild mushroom and chicken ravioli in a thick cream sauce. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Contrary to popular myth, good Viognier need not taste overtly of apricot or peach. This is the perfect example: the main hints of stone fruit are faint reflections of the peach kernel. It's pleasantly waxy, chubby and fluffy in the mouth with references to pale, fleshly, pithy exotic fruits. Aroma: Summer dust, dried meadow blooms, apple custard, honeydew melon, candle wax Texture: Viscous, unctuous, strapping, steely acidity Flavour: Lemony sabayan, dried apple, peach kernel, & honeydew melon Finish: Fleshy, heavy of weight but fine of flavour
