Wine Review: This dark red colored opens with a red raspberry and pomegranate bouquet with hints of cedar and red licorice. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, smooth, and supple. The flavor profile is a tasty blend of pomegranate and cedar with notes of red licorice and red plum. I also detected some hints of loam, cinnamon, and thyme. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity and dusty mild tannins are nicely extended. I would pair this Pinot with lamb kabobs or seared tuna. - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Deep ruby, bright, with almost a blue edge. Ripe clean aromatics, the lean and muscular structure is evident. The bouquet, spiced berry and plum aromas with earthy undertones, bay leaf, fennel. Bracing and fresh on entry, with cherry and citrus on a canvas of earthiness and root beer. Medium tannins. A tangy finish of blood orange intensity. This wine should cellar well, but drinks well now. Gourmet burgers with blue cheese comes to mind or a steak au poivre rare.
