Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Pinot Noir from Winderlea opens with mild black raspberry and red plum bouquet with a hint of pepper and spice. On the palate, this wine is light to medium bodied, balanced and on the delicate side. The flavor profile is a pleasant light red plum with notes of spice, red raspberry, black pepper, coffee and oak. I also detected a hint of black cherry that appears after being open for a while. The finish is dry and its flavors, gentle acidity and faint tannins are nicely prolonged. This Pinot is food friendly and would pair nicely with delicate foods. I would pair it with roast pork with mushroom risotto. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Orange oil, Thai basil, red licorice, rose hip and raspberry candy burst from the glass and slide into the palate. These flavors are balanced by fine, powdery tannins, bright fruits, and a hint of cinnamon and lavender on a silky, long finish.
