Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Pinot Noir from the Shea Vineyard is young and benefits greatly from aeration. It opens with a very inviting blueberry and black cherry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, very nicely balanced and smooth particularly after being open for a while. The flavor profile is a gentle mineral infused black plum with notes black currant and old oak I also detected hints of black cherry and chai tea. The finish is dry and its flavors fade away nicely. This Pinot is very food friendly and would pair perfectly with cherry amaretto chicken. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: A deeply toned red brick color showcases the Shea Vineyard cuvee this year. On the nose this wine shows layers of red fruit like red plums, rhubarb, strawberry and currants. Coupled with those red notes are a variety of perfumed herbal touches of rose hips, lavender and dried flowers. There are also spice elements layered into the wine of anise and allspice as well as hints of spiced tea. Amazingly bright and fresh upon entry with a juicy and long finish that allows the complex layers in this wine to show through.
