Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Pinot Noir from Oregon opens with fragrant pomegranate and red currant bouquet. On the palate, this wine is light bodied, slightly acidic and savory. The flavor profile is a spicy black raspberry with notes of oak, black plum and black pepper. The finish is dry and its flavors and moderate linger for quite some time after the wine is gone. This is a hearty Pinot and would pair well with comfort foods. I would pair it with beef bourguignon. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Clear, bright and garnet jeweled colored. A most approachable and drinkable wine upon release, the 2012 Dundee Hills Vineyards immediately shows bright cranberry and red cherry fruit along with notes of fennel and caraway seed. Left in the glass layers of cassis, lavender, cherry cola and anise appear and delight. The acid is bright and is well balanced with soft tannins. The finish is long and mouthwatering.
