Wine Review: This light yellow colored Chardonnay opens with a very strong oak bouquet with hints of pear and creme brulee in the background. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and rich. The flavor profile is an oak influenced green apple with notes of toffee. I also detected hints of lemon and Bosc pear as well. The finish is dry and its flavors last for quite some time. This rich Chard is made for lovers of oaky Chard. I would pair this rich wine with chicken and wild mushroom ravioli with a light cream and butter sauce. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Highlighting Anderson Valley terroir, this Chardonnay tends to be delicate and citrus driven with lower alcohol than many California Chardonnays, speaking to the Anderson Valley sense of place. It is a refined and elegant expression of both Chardonnay and the Anderson Valley. Subtle, refined aromas of yellow apple, honeydew melon, toffee, and nutmeg combine with flavors of white peach, Asian pear, brioche, and underlying minerality to produce a wine with weight and bright, fresh acidity.
