Wine Review: This light gold colored Chardonnay from William Hill opens with a Bosc pear and pineapple bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced and silky smooth. The flavor profile is a new oak influenced pineapple and pear blend notes of cinnamon, Nilla wafer and a touch of apricot in the distant background. The finish is dry and its pleasant acidity and fruit flavors stick around for a while. This Chard would be perfect with sherry laced lobster bisque. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Our 2014 William Hill Estate Benchland Series Chardonnay is crafted from select blocks from two of Napa Valley's finest regions, Carneros and St. Helena. This Chardonnay is luxuriously creamy with an appealingly full-bodied mouthfeel. Flavors of green apples, pears and fruit blossoms add some bright tones to the lushness. Hints of butter, a soft streak of oak, and touches of fruit rise in a long finish that maintains the luxurious richness.
