Wine Review: This deep yellow colored Chardonnay opens with a mild apple and faint oak bouquet with a hint of butterscotch. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced and creamy. The flavor profile is a tasty apple and pear blend with hints of oak, pineapple, and peach. The finish is dry and its flavors fade away nicely. This Chard is very good and a second glass is warranted. It is also food friendly, I would pair it with a wild mushroom and chicken tortellini smothered with a butter cream sauce. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Our 2012 Napa Valley Chardonnay was made from a mix of grapes grown in the cool Carneros and warmer St. Helena AVAs. Ripe tree fruit and heady notes of baked apple are supported by layers of caramel, brown spice and toasted oak flavors. This wine has a rich palate and silky mouthfeel, with moderate sweetness and a long, lingering finish.
