Wine Review: This dark red colored Pinot Noir from WillaKenzie opens with a fragrant and inviting black raspberry and strawberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and savory. The flavor profile is an oak influenced spiced plum and rhubarb blend with notes of minerality throughout. I also detected hints of black pepper. The finish is dry and its flavors and gentle tannins linger nicely. This Oregon Pinot is food friendly and would pair well with pan-fried arctic char with mushrooms. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This 2016 Willamette Valley Pinot Noir offers an expressive aroma profile characterized by expressive red fruits interwoven with classic Willamette Valley earth tones – notes of strawberry, raspberry, forest floor, black tea and a hint of blood orange. On the palate, the wine is vibrant and energetic and juicy, with an appropriate level of balanced acidity to work in harmony with the wine’s fine-grained tannin.
