Wine Review: This dark red colored Grenache from Wente opens with a fragrant oak and black raspberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, savory and very fruit driven. The flavor profile is a ripe black plum and black cherry blend with notes of menthol. I also detected a touch of boysenberry in the end. The finish is dry and its flavors and moderate tannins linger and stick around for quite a while. This wine would pair well with slow cooked beef brisket. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This wine is a deep ruby color with medium intensity and well defined tearing. On the nose this wine exhibits fresh berries, cassis, vanilla and clove with subtle hints of licorice and light violet. The palate reveals moderate, firm tannins, and bright acidity. It is full bodied and complex with a lingering, fruit filled finish. This is a high quality wine that ages well.
