Wine Review: This pale straw-colored Chardonnay from Oregon opens with a lemon and pineapple bouquet with hints of oak. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, fresh and bright. The flavor profile is a lemon and oak blend with notes of minerality, pineapple, and saline. I also detected some hints of white peach mixed in. The finish is dry and quite refreshing. This Chard would pair well with a pan-fried rainbow trout. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: We believe in Willamette Valley Chardonnay. Our approach to Chardonnay pays attention to texture and structure, translating site and vintage. The La Combe Verte is fermented with 100% ambient yeast and full malolactic conversion in French oak barrels with very little bâtonnage. The wine is lightly filtered prior to bottling to brighten aromatics and give us a polished finish. The result is an illuminating style of Chardonnay, showcasing density and precision. The palate spotlights evolving layers of textures which follow the classic aromatic notes of lemon zest, honey crisp apple and white flowers, with the finish offering a subtle mineral and saline character.
