Wine Review: This fragrant white Cayuga White from the Finger Lakes presents with a pale straw gold color and opens with aromas of lemon basil and gorgonzola with hints of ozone, mowed farm field, and struck match. On the palate, there are juicy lime, lychee, and green apple flavors with traces of loganberry and candied lemon slices. The body is medium, and the acidity is low but the wine is surprisingly complex, shifting from sweet on the attack to savory on the exit. Think beyond Thai cuisine for this food-friendly and budget-friendly wine. A couple of suggestion would be an asparagus risotto with a rosemary and gruyere popover, or street corn with queso fresco.
