Wine Review: This light red Pinot from the Finger Lakes opens with a black cherry and oak bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and soft. The flavor profile is a spicy black cherry with notes of black pepper throughout. I also detected a touch of oak hidden behind the spice. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are noticeable, dusty, and linger for a while. I suggest trying this Pinot with smoked salmon or pork with a peach salsa. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2007 vintage is our seventh release of a Reserve Pinot Noir. This elegantly styled Reserve Pinot Noir has a bouquet of ripe cherries, black raspberries and violets which will intensify with several years of aging. Aged 13 months in oak, and gently handled throughout the winemakeing process, a slight natural sediment, which is harmless, may be noticed as this wine matures. Enjoy this limited release wine with flavorful seafood and poultry.
