Wine Review: This pale yellow colored Chardonnay from the Finger Lakes is a nice and affordable option for readers who enjoy a little oak in their Chard. It opens with a mild apple bouquet with a hint of butterscotch. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and easy going. The flavor profile is a ripe red apple with nicely integrated vanilla oak. The finish is dry and friendly. This wine would pair perfectly with pumpkin ravioli with a brown sage sauce. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2007 growing season in the Finger Lakes was ideal for ripening Chardonnay. Our Reserve Chardonnay is from a new vineyard block comprised of Dijon clones 76 & 96. Initially fermented in stainless steel, then barrel aged with French Oak for 4 months, the mouthfilling butterscotch flavors & dense creamy texture are nicely balanced by oak.
