Wine Review: This opaque and midnight purple colored Petite Sirah from Vinum is a very good value. It opens with a black cherry bouquet with a hint of cola and rum. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and juicy. The flavor profile is a tasty mild blackberry with notes of minerality, vanilla bean and oak. There is also a touch of dark chocolate and blueberry in the background. The finish is dry and its mild dusty tannins linger for a bit. This Petite Sirah is an ideal summer barbecue red. It will pair nicely with burgers and ribs off the grill. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Dark, inky purple, plum (almost black) color. The intense aromas express blueberry and huckleberry fruit notes. The finish is rich with dark chocolate, blackberry and creamy Tahitian vanillan. This Petite Sirah pairs well with Mexican Carnitas tacos. (barbecued pork)
