Wine Review: This light yellow colored Chenin Blanc initially displays hundreds of tiny bubbles out of the bottle. They fade away after a few swirls. It opens with a fragrant apple bouquet with a hint of honey. On the palate, this wine is light bodied, slightly acidic and very easy to drink. The flavor profile is Anjou pear with hints of minerality, green melon and kiwi. The finish is dry and its favors linger nicely. This Chenin is a very nice affordable white wine for the summer. Pair it with oysters while on vacation at the shore. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This is our 17th year of producing Chenin Blanc from Wilson Farms in Clarksburg California, near Sacramento in the Delta. This crisp white wine has a crystal pale yellow hue. The aromas are brilliant and intense with tropical and citrus zest with linalool and ripe pineapple notes. This wine evolves into a crisp melange of refreshing fruit from honeydew to citron lemon, ripe kiwi and tart pippin apples. The wine finishes juicy while remaining appropriately acidic and dry with sweet green apple and mango nectar flavors. This wine pairs fabulously with grilled fish tacos, or a chioggia beet salad with toasted walnuts and gorgonzola or finally grilled yellowfin tuna with fresh guacamole and roasted fingerling potatoes.
