Wine Review: This bright red colored Pinot from Burgundy opens with a funky red cherry, oak and leather like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and very approachable. The flavor profile is a very tasty red plum and cherry blend with hints of gentle oak and strawberry. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins show quite a bit of length. This Pinot is food friendly, but does need some fat to tame the tannins. I would pair it with braised short ribs. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Already clear but not yet bottled, deep crimson in color. A gamy nose, very Santenay. Creamy on the palate – cafe au lait. It has some granular tannins, but they have juicy acidity along with some mint and dark chocolate and a hint of red licorice.
