Wine Review: This dark red colored Pinot Noir from Burgundy opens with a strawberry bouquet with a hint of new leather and red cherry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and very easy to drink. The flavor profile is a very tasty ripe strawberry with nicely infused cedar plank. I also detected some hints of cola and plum. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins drift away nicely. This Pinot is very food friendly and would be a perfect match for seared duck breast with a cherry-cranberry Pinot Noir sauce. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Good color, but not too deep. Rustic on the nose, slightly reduced. Black licorice flavors with some baby granular tannins; a little tight and earthy. The acids cut the fruit short, the dry, powdered tannins mask the fruit. Serve with roasted meats and various cheese.
