Wine Review: This opaque and midnight blue colored Spanish Grenache opens with a rum cake and raisin like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and smooth. The flavor profile is a tasty old oak infused black plum with notes of raisin and boysenberry. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are very dusty and stick around for quite some time. This wine is very old school and won't be for everyone. I would pair it in the near term with roasted duck breast. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: 100% Garnacha from ungrafted indigenous clones grown on steep slate slopes over 3000 feet in elevation. Densely structured with a firm mineral backbone. Aged 18 months in barriques of French, American and Hungarian oak.
