Wine Review: This opaque and very dark ruby colored big boy Cabernet based red blend from Vina Robles is impressive. It opens with a black raspberry bouquet with hints of boysenberry. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced and lush. The flavor profile is a concentrated stewed plum with notes of boysenberry. I also detected hints of blackberry in the background. The finish is dry and displays lots of dusty tannins that build up and last for a while. I would decant the big wine and serve it with a well marbled ribeye. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Color: Inky purple garnet Aroma: Dark currants and black cherries with hints of licorice, mocha and spice Taste: Rich and full-bodied; dark fruit flavors with well-structured, chewy tannins that linger into a long, balanced finish Pairing suggestions: Flank steak, braised beef or venison with spatzli and chestnuts
