Wine Review: This pale yellow Chardonnay opens up with notes of vanilla, creme brulee, and sweet, candied tangerine rinds. The Vin Vault Chardonnay is lighter than other options, specifically those in bottles, but this wine holds its own. The palate is a surprising mix of fresh and temptingly sweet, a line that is normally not as blurry as this one. This Chardonnay opens up with Golden delicious apples, toasted coconut, hints of caramel, ripe starfruit, and the subtlest notes of lemon zest. The oak isn’t as pronounced as other options, but there is no mistaking that it’s there. The finish has a bright and well-textured acidity that does a great job of cleaning up the finish and tempting you to go back for seconds. A valiant effort for a BIB. - Nicolay
Winemaker Notes: Vin Vault Chardonnay is rich and luscious with notes of baked apple pie, lemon cream and pear. These opulent flavors are complemented nicely by a nice acidity, creating a smooth taste and overall well-balanced wine.
